Community singing in action

Community singing in action!

We’re loving the community spirit in our group.

Sing United last night was buzzing with excitement…what to name our mascot made by Susan Craigs? Either “Willie” or “Bobby” 50p a vote…the winning name “Willie”! Total raised £27.50.

This amount isn’t the end of our fundraising for the amazing RNLI, Blyth Lifeboat. Susan has made another mascot to be raffled off, Heather Page has made a beautiful bag in the SU colours to be raffled off too! Also Linda Williamson has been hard at work making lots of different broaches, hair clips and pin badges for the group to wear on concert day. All proceeds will be going straight in our pot for the RNLI ?

We also have a car sharing initiative running which started by one member needing help to get to a rehearsal…it turned in to something more than just one person helping another where lots of members now share lifts and help each other out…we’re also helping the environment – it’s never ending ?
?

Mark received a little “thank you” for helping out another member who accidentally left their purse at last week’s rehearsal ? Willie made sure they were kept safe during rehearsals though…it was thirsty work all that singing!

This is just the beginning for Sing United. This is community singing. #voicestogether
