I was lucky enough to grab a couple of tickets for the Power to the People concert at The Peoples Theatre last night before it sold out. I knew it would be good but I was blown away! Powerful alright! Looked and sounded amazing. I hear they have done some Community Fundraising for The Peoples Kitchen in Newcastle and the POWER of the SING UNITED PEOPLE blew all expectations out of the water and incredibly have raised several Thousand Pounds for this wonderful local charity. You should all be extremely proud of yourselves. You all looked like you had the best time too! Brilliant!

Singing with Sing United is uplifting, challenging and above all, fun! We sing songs with meaning in wonderful venues and support local charities at the same time. Mark's vision, enthusiasm and musical talent are a joy - come along and give Sing United a go!

I have felt privileged this term to be part of the ‘green heart army’. We are more than a singing group. We are a community. We sing together, have an awesome time at rehearsals and we make a difference. We are friends and we make friends. We learn together and we succeed together. A wonderful experience made possible by the musical genius and vision of Mark Deeks.

I have loved being part of Sing United this term. The music we've been learning has been challenging at times but always rewarding. Rehearsals are fun and a great way to meet like-minded people. Singing at the concert at the People's Theatre on 17th November was uplifting, emotional and totally brilliant! See you next term!

I joined Sing United as I love the idea of singing with a message , singing with like minded people and supporting local charities. The musical arrangements are so wonderful to sing and for an Alto they are not all on one note! I sing to bolster my resilience and to top up my well-being it really does help you to forget the day - Sing United is a great way to do this.

I’m thoroughly enjoying being part of Sing United. I’ve always sung in choirs but this has such a different feel because of the regional links and the messages conveyed by the music. Sing United has become a community with a heart and I look forward to the weekly rehearsals very much indeed. 💚

Sing United is a wonderful new community choir, learning the music is made so much fun by the enthusiastic Mark Deeks his humour is infectious, but doesn't take away from our learning. Personally I've never looked back since joining.

I joined Sing United because I enjoy singing and learning about different genres of music. They are a great group of people and rehearsals are such fun. It’s a fabulous way to unwind after a day at work! Mark’s enthusiasm for music is infectious, his knowledge is immense and he also has a good line in Geordie patter.....

I've found it such a positive experience to be a member of the Sing United community choir. Rehearsals are really well organised with no detail overlooked - and such fun too! I've known Mark Deeks for many years; he really cares about our experience as singers and his musical arrangements (which go way beyond choral music) are second to none. Great experience - if you enjoy singing, you'll love this!

Community singing in Newcastle never felt so good! More than 120 singers not just singing but supporting their local community and charities as well. Very proud to work with them and can't wait to see what they achieve.

Sing United is a new and exciting community choir in the North East of England led by Mark Deeks. It’s a joy to sing and Mark’s boundless enthusiasm for what he does permeates every rehearsal. I call the rehearsals my “holiday in the week” because while you are there you forget the stress and troubles of everyday life.
