You will receive an email confirming your user account for Sing United. You should then complete your payment information via the Stripe gateway. Your membership will not be confirmed until your payment has been completed, at which point you will receive an email receipt from Stripe. If you try to login to the site without this stage being completed you will be notified that your user account is awaiting approval. Please complete the payment steps before trying to login. In the event that you do not receive your email confirmations it is your responsibility to contact us and let us know of any issues so that we can resolve them for you as quickly as possible. - Definitions and Interpretation
“Company” means Sing United Limited (Company Number 11005866), offices at 36 Fairfield Avenue, Willow Steads, Blyth, Northumberland, NE24 3HW.
“Customer” means the singer who joins Sing United for the membership period relating to a musical project.
“Membership period” is by standard eleven weekly rehearsals followed by one public performance as a minimum. Additional performance opportunities will be added where possible, and the membership fee will include the opportunity to participate in these wherever space allows.
“Membership fee”: there are three levels of membership – Member, Supporter and Champion. Each can be paid for in one lump sum, or in three monthly instalments.
“Effective date” is the date the customer makes either the lump sum payment for the membership period, or the first of their three, monthly instalments.
“Agreement” means these Terms and Conditions.
The customer’s membership period begins on the effective date, and ends two weeks after the final performance of the membership period.
The customer will be provided with eleven rehearsals of two hours each in length, led by a professional musical director. The customer will be provided with printed sheet music or the music will be emailed to them for printing at home or use on a tablet device (as indicated by the customer when they join). In addition, rehearsal tracks will be provided as MP3s on the company website for download by the customer. Both rehearsal tracks and sheet music will be provided no later than the customer’s effective date.
For the main public performance, the following will be provided:
- Performance venue
- Staging, sound and lighting equipment as deemed necessary by the company.
- A band of not less than four musicians.
- An online ticket box office to handle all ticket sales.
- Priority ticket sales code and discount ticket codes for Supporter and Champion customers.
The company will provide a membership portal on the company website where music notices, downloads, rehearsal notes, and membership details of the customer can be accessible.
- Customer obligations
The customer is expected to attend as many rehearsals as they are able, and follow videoed rehearsal notes to complete individual preparation for learning material in between rehearsals. All Sing United performances are to be performed from memory.
The customer, must attend a minimum of eight of the eleven rehearsals in order to take part in the performance. Whilst Sing United will be as flexible and welcoming as possible, the final decision on participation in all performances will be at the discretion of the musical director.
Attire for all performances will be advised by the company. Information regarding this for both formal and informal performances will be provided on the company website, as well as at rehearsals. Whilst Sing United does not require a uniform attire, and wishes to be as flexible as possible on this aspect of performance, adherence by the customer to the colour scheme provided by the company is required. The final decision remains with the company.
It is the Customer’s responsibility to keep any passwords relating to the Services confidential, and to change such passwords on a regular basis. The Customer will notify the Company immediately if it becomes aware that a password relating to the Services is or may have been compromised or misused.
- Charges and payment
All charges will be taken via an online payment portal on the company website. As of February 2018, the fees for membership of Sing United are as follows:
- Member: £69 (lump sum) or three x £25 monthly instalments.
- Supporter: £99 (lump sum) or three x £35 monthly instalments.
- Champion: £119 (lump sum) or three x £42 monthly instalments.
The company will review these fees three times per year.
The customer is entitled to a no-questions-asked, full refund of all membership fees paid for 14 days after the effective date (the date of the customer’s first payment for that term). After this period, no membership fee refunds will be payable for that term.
- Data protection
The customer warrants that it has the legal right to disclose all personal data that it discloses to the company under the agreement, and that the processing of that personal data by the company for the purposes of and in accordance with the terms of the agreement will not breach any applicable laws (including the Data Protection Act 1998).
The company warrants that:
- it will act only on instructions from the customer in relation to the processing of any personal data performed by the company on behalf of the customer; and
- it has in place appropriate security measures (both technical and organisational) against unlawful or unauthorised processing of personal data and against loss or corruption of personal data processed by the company on behalf of the customer.
The company may terminate the agreement at any time, giving at least 14 days’ written notice to the customer.
The customer may not share the materials provided by the company to any third-party who is not a customer of the company. The services and materials provided are for customer use only, for the purposes of their membership of Sing United. If the customer wishes to use materials provided for activities not pertaining to Sing United, they must seek written permission from the company in advance. Failure to do this will result in the customer’s termination from the current term with no refund of membership fees due.
From time to time we may use comments made in the Facebook group “Sing United North East” to help to market Sing United. If the customer does not wish their comments to be used, they should notify the company immediately.
