Spotlight on Tim & Carol Deveaux
During our ‘We Sing United’ term we raised funds for the Percy Hedley Foundation and held an online raffle and auction to end all raffles and auctions! Our generous singers donated a massive array of items and services for an amazing cause. Here’s Tim Deveaux’s account of the auction prize he won for his wife (our Carol!)
“I won the auction for the family history kindly donated by Peter Berrie back in November 2020. Peter researched my wife Carol’s family history, so I could give it to her as a Christmas present.
The report Peter has produced is far, far better than I imagined! It looks at all her ancestors as far back as the 18th century! The report provides a look at their early life, their marriage and their adulthood, where they lived, what they did for a living and who their children were. Each section includes the evidence to support the story, such as images of birth, marriage and death records, census records, photographs of houses they lived in and newspaper cuttings. The most interesting person Peter found was a certain Nimrod Holt (yes!), who was serial thief in the early 19th century in the Manchester area.
I can certainly recommend anyone to invest in their family history and in Peter you can certainly rely on a thorough and revealing research!
Thank you, Peter!”
