BLAYDON RACE CHALLENGE!!!
As you may know from the virtual rehearsals, we’ve set a new challenge for our fundraising this term for the West End Food Bank (also known as NUFC Fans Food Bank).
It’s called the Blaydon Race Challenge and we’d love as many of you as possible to get involved! So what is it?
As the lyrics to the Blaydon Races song start with…
I went to Blaydon Races
‘Twas on the 9th of June
Eighteen Hundred and Sixty Two
On a Summer’s Afternoon
…the challenge is for us, as a team, to collectively walk and/or run 1862 miles between 1 and 9 June.
Please keep a record of the distance you walk and/or run each day and we’ll put up a post in the Sing United – Current Members group on the 9th June, for those of you on Facebook, to report your individual miles TOTAL by 5pm.
For those of you not on Facebook the same post will go up on the Member Notices on the website where you can comment or you can email Suzanne at firstname.lastname@example.org with your miles.
If you are recording your movement in steps or kilometres we’ll need you to convert them to miles.
We’re aiming to not only walk 1862 miles but also raise £1862. You can, of course, set your own individual targets that you can track yourself and ask friends and family to sponsor you if you wish. If you want to set yourself a target and make a donation if you hit it, that would be great too. Any donations will need to be paid direct into the Foundation account and here are the details:
Account Name: Sing United Foundation
Sort code: 55-81-19
A/c no: 86933760
As you all enjoyed our 500 miles challenge so much in January, we thought this would be the perfect challenge again to involve as many people as possible. You don’t have to get involved but please be assured this isn’t a competition so however big or small your contribution, every step counts.
So comfy shoes on and start counting your miles from 1st June. Thank you so much for your support yet again and getting behind our fundraising.
Do take care when you’re out and about and stay safe everyone
